Wiliam “Bill” Mikeal, Sr passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Bill was a native to Charlotte, NC and was born on July 26, 1939 to the late Scott T. Mikeal, Sr and Laura Lee Hunt-Mikeal, as a second son.
Bill was in the banking industry for fifty-five years, retiring from both Wachovia and Bank of America. Bill was an avid rock hound since his early days, driving all around the country mining for gems and minerals with his friends and family. In his later life, Bill enjoyed a new-found hobby of painting nature and still-life. After admiring his older brother Scott “Scotty” T. Mikeal, Jr and his wife Kathryn “Kathy” Rayburn-Mikeal, enjoying their new hobby of painting, Bill himself jumped in with both feet, painting almost daily. He continued to paint even after moving in to an assistant living facility, sharing his finished works with fellow residents and staff alike.
Bill is survived by his companion of thirty-three year, Roseann Roy of Matthew, NC; Daughter-in-law Mikyung “Miko” Mikeal of Stafford, VA, wife to Bill’s only child, William “Sonny” Mikeal, Jr who passed away in Aug 2021; nieces Debra Lynn Mikeal-Smith of Myrtle Beach, NC and family, and Sandra Elaine Mikeal-Hudson of New London, NC and family; three grandchildren: Jessup Mikeal of Stafford, VA, Alexandra Mikeal-Wojatala and husband Elliot Wojatala of Richmond, VA, and Sabrina Mikeal-Latterell and husband Matthew Latterell of McLean, VA; and a great-granddaughter Emily Latterell.
