Winfred Euguene Gibson

He was born March 7, 1912 in Gaston County to Baxter and Dovie Glover Gibson.

He is survived by his two sisters, Gladys Crawford, Mary Faith and husband Lowell Jennings; his brother Roy “Billy” and wife Carol Gibson; his daughter Sandy and husband Jerry Segars; his two grandchildren, Todd Segars and Patrice Martin; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Marie Gibson; his nine brothers and sisters: Edgar, Melvin, Carrie McKee, Ruth, Maude Ricardson, Grace Lineberger, Lillian Bryant, Clyde, Eugenia; he was preceded also by his daughter, Nancy Hoagland.

Friends and family are welcome to a visitation from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Friday, December 17, 2010 in McEwen Funeral Service Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2010 at Charlotte Memorial Gardens 7632 Hood Road Charlotte, NC 28215.

The friends and family of Mr. Gibson would like to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to the care and compassion shown to Mr. Gibson at First Assembly Living Center.
