

Yong Su Ha, a proud veteran of the Korean War, passed away on May 11, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family at age 92. Yong Su was born on February 21, 1931 in Changyoung-kun, Kyungnam-do, Korea (now known as Changnyeong, Gyeongsang, South Korea). He enlisted and trained as an mechanical engineer for the KATUSA Troops of the Republic of Korea Army, where he served from Sept. 15, 1950 - Oct. 30, 1955. During and after his service, Yong Su received numerous honors, medals, and recommendations from the military and the Korean communities he was a dedicated member of.
Yong Su traveled across the world to countries including Vietnam, Iran, New Zealand, United States, and many more. With his passion for photography, he captured and documented memories of his entire life from his service, adventures, to friends & family. Yong Su settled in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1981. There, he continued his career in mechanical engineering and finally retired and lived a quiet, loving life with his family.
He leaves behind his children Chang-Ku Ha, Chang-Ho Ha, Mi-Soon Kim, Mi-Kyong Pham, Chang-Hyon Ha, Mi-Lan Nguyen, Chang-Yon Ha, Mi-Hoa Ha and as well his many dear grandchildren. An open funeral visitation for Yong Su Ha will be held Sunday, May 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. There will be a service at 3:00 PM.
