Arnett Allen Green, 91, passed away peacefully, April 5, 2021, in Charlottesville, VA. Arnett was born August 23, 1929 in Bolair, WV to the late Ottis and Ovia Green. He was preceded in death by two brothers Harold Lloyd and Ronald Clay Green. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Jean Houghton Green. Arnett graduated from Webster Springs High School in 1947 and worked in the coal mines for a short time before signing up to serve our country in the Navy during the Korean War. He served aboard the USS Monterey, Yorktown, and Saratoga as an airplane mechanic. Arnett went to Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and eventually worked at AT&T for 35 years. Arnett was active in church serving as: Sunday school teacher, Deacon, ministry to the deaf, prison ministry, children’s ministry, choir, and anything else that was needed. He loved to fish and camp in his beloved mountains of West Virginia. Arnett is survived by his sister Nedra Elaine Hamrick and husband Paul of Ranson, WV; son Charles Wesley Green and wife Debbie of Earlysville, VA; daughter Stephanie Green Ford and husband Justin of Nashville, TN; daughter Jennifer Green Ferguson and husband Darryl of Farmington Hills, MI; grandchildren Megan and Chase Green, Jordan and Kelsey Ford, Aaron, Micah, Caleb, and Lydia Ferguson; and great grandchildren Malia and Sawyer Morris. A memorial service will be held at a later date at his property on the Gauley River in Webster Springs, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angelman Syndrome Foundation in honor of Arnett Green.
