In the Early Morning hours of January 1st, 2026, our dear sister, Audrey Solomon slipped into the arms of Jesus. She joined her loving husband, Ed and other loved ones who had gone on before. These included her step children Linda and Gene, an infant sister, Linda Ann and two brothers, Woodrow and Joe, and parents Clarence and Elizabeth Jordan. She also joined other beloved family members and friends.
Audrey was born on December 26, 1946, and recently celebrated her 79th birthday.
Above all else, Audrey was a nurturer and caregiver to children, and was known for her selfless and unconditional love. Among other things, she loved Jesus, her family, children (young or grown), word search puzzles, butterflies, birds and zinnias.
"Slim" is survived by ten siblings: Frances Walker, Betty Wood, Dorothy Gilbert, Kenneth Jordan Sr. (Bobbie), Wayne Jordan (JoEllen), Michael Jordan (Barbara), Sue Woodson (Thomas), Faye Raynes Cooper (Larry), Lewis Jordan Sr. (Terri), and Sherry Smith. Additionally, she is survived by her two sisters-in-law. She is also survived by a village of nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. She adored each one of them and loved them all as her own. She is also survived by her faithful cat companion, Snickers.
Audrey was a faithful attendee at Rehoboth Church in Schuyler, VA throughout her life until her health no longer permitted. A celebration of life will be held there in her honor on January 10, 2026 at 11:00 am and will be conducted by Reverend Michael Jordan and Lewis Jordan. A fellowship meal will follow the service. The family would like to invite all attendees to wear purple.
The family extends appreciation and acknowledgement to those who helped to care for Audrey in her time of need. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Association in Audrey's memory.
II Timothy 4:7:
