Carole Mowbray Maupin

She was born on April 22, 1942 to the late Wilmer Mowbray and Nellie Huckstep Mowbray.

She was also preceded in death by her 2 daughters, Terri Meeks and Pamela Shifflett. and son-inlaw, Montie Meeks.

She is survived by her son-in-law Timothy (Buck) Shifflett and her cousin Connie (RJ).

She had a special bond with Greg and Heather Thacker, and Jordon Thacker.

Carole had several good friends through the years, Brenda and Ronnie Dickerson, Linda and Glenn, Wade and Debbie, and Roxanne.

Grace Morris was her very best friend and they enjoyed many adventures together.

After graduating Carole went to work for the County of Albemarle court system and later retired from there.

She loved her daughters and their husbands tremendously. They enjoyed family dinners, holidays, and traveling together.

She also loved her cat, Chelsea, and her 5 grand doggies, Mandy, Brandie, Brookie, Harley, and Bobby Lee.

The family would like to thank Medi Home Hospice for their care and also English Meadows of Crozet.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 5:00pm -7:00 pm at Teague Funeral Service Chapel, 2260 Ivy Road. Charlottesville, Va.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 23 at 2:00 pm at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Wesley Chapel Road, Free Union VA. 22940.

Tammy James will be officiating.
