Christina (Chris) Mary DeVincentis of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away in her home among family on May 27, 2025, at the age of 62. She touched the lives of so many as a doctor, a sister, a wife, and a friend. She made time for anyone who crossed her path.
Chris grew up in Newport News, Virginia and attended college at the University of Dallas where she chose medicine as her career. She attended medical school at the University of Virginia and completed her residency at Baystate Medical Center. Chris returned to Charlottesville where she operated a private practice. She also donated her time to the Charlottesville Free Clinic, and, later in her career, she chose to work full time with the UVA Physicians Group in Culpepper, helping to bring medical care to all in need. In the past few years, unable to see patients, she worked in an administration position for the University of Virginia Health System, mentoring and supporting nurses, physician assistants, doctors and other clinicians.
Chris loved to learn, experience new adventures and cultures, whether by reading, watching documentaries or traveling, and share her insights with others. Some of her favorite places included Italy, Iceland, and St. Thomas. She also enjoyed peaceful times at the beach and shopping excursions with family and friends. Chris shared her kindness and love with her pets, many of which she rescued.
Those who knew Chris will always treasure her generosity, smile, hugs, laughter and loving care that she instinctively gave. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pryor Baird, and her parents, Joseph & Margaret DeVincentis. She is survived by her siblings, Joe DeVincentis (Susan) of Charlottesville, VA; Tom DeVincentis (Rose) of Sturgeon, Missouri; Greg DeVincentis (Diane) of Orefield, Pennsylvania; Cathy Snow (Jeff) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Theresa DeVincentis of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Robert DeVincentis (Dina) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, as well as several wonderful nephews, a grandnephew and a grandniece. She also leaves behind close friends who will celebrate her life and carry on her amazing, giving qualities.
A private celebration of life will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. (https://secure.qgiv.com/for/pulfibfou/)
