

Cora Rosson Garrison, 86, born October 18, 1928, passed on to eternal life on June 24, 2015. She was the eldest daughter of the late Ella Florence Frazier and Russell Rosson. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Stuart Garrison, on June 22, 2003, and her grandson Keith Edward Garrison, on June 30, 1970. She is survived by two sons, Lester Garrison and his wife Nancy of Somerset; Charles Garrison and his wife Mary of Blackwells Hollow Rd.; two daughters, Beulah Frazier of Earlysville and Brenda Wyland and her husband Ray of Blackwells Hollow Rd. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Anthony Frazier and wife Michelle, Michael Frazier and wife Regenia, all of Ruckersville, Nancy Hunt and husband Jeff, Leslie Figgins and husband William, all of Gordonsville, and Robin Garrison of Blackwells Hollow; 11 great-grandchildren: Amber Sullivan and fiancée Derek Brown of Charlottesville, Felicia Clements and husband Mikey of Charlottesville, Candace Swanson and husband Tyler of Belgium, Nicky Lohr and husband Greg of Unionville, Caleb Robertson of Blackwells Hollow, Alisa Figgins, Brooke Figgins, and Kaleigh Figgins of Gordonsville, Ryan Frazier, Kitty Frazier, and Kevin Frazier of Ruckersville, two great-great grandsons, Hunter Brown of Charlottesville, and Bentley Swanson of Belgium; and one step great-great granddaughter, Caitlin Brown of Charlottesville. Additionally, she is survived by three sisters: Margaret Shifflett of Schuyler, Mary Pritchett and Anna Pritchett and husband Chris of Charlottesville, and one brother, Cecil Rosson of Altavista. She is also survived by a special nephew, Doug Shiflett of White Hall. Cora retired from Con Agra in 1986 after 31 years of service. She was a member of Good Shepard of the Hills Episcopal Church in Boonesville, VA. She was a loving mother, grandmother and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always in her kitchen preparing meals and wouldn’t let you leave without eating; even when she was sick she would make sure you had something to eat before leaving. Momma, you will be missed so much. A funeral service will be conducted on June 26, 2015 at 2 PM at the Prize Hill Church in Boonesville, VA with Pastor Johnny Hartless officiating. A burial will follow at Prize Hill Cemetery in Free Union. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prize Hill Cemetery Association, P.O.
