

The son of Marvin and Patricia Stucky, Dave grew up in Dearborn, Michigan with older brother, Dr. William (Bill) Stucky and younger brother, Eric Stucky. Dave graduated from Dearborn High School in 1979 and then moved to Palo Alto, California to attend Stanford University. Dave graduated from Stanford University in 1983 with a Bachelor Administration degree in International Relations. After graduation, Dave moved to San Francisco where he started a successful 33-year career with IBM including management positions in market analysis, business strategy, business development and executive relationship management. While with IBM, Dave moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then to Danbury, Connecticut.
Retiring in 2015 from IBM, Dave moved from Danbury to Charlottesville, Virginia. There, Dave fulfilled a lifelong dream of being a cook and started a second career with Wegmans Food Markets in 2016. At Wegmans, Dave enjoyed working as a line cook, primarily managing the fresh food hot bars. Dave was very excited about his position at Wegmans and often told his family how much he enjoyed the work and the relationships he built.
When he wasn’t working, Dave loved to travel, journal and was extremely creative. He enjoyed drawing and other forms of artistic expression. Fred and Sampson, his two cats, were a big part of his life.
Dave is survived in death by his mom, Patricia L. Stucky, brothers, Bill and Eric Stucky, nephews Robb and Brian Stucky, niece Taylor Stucky and sisters-in-law Carone Stucky and Suzanne Stucky.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 3rd at 11:30AM at Teague Funeral Home Chapel, 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to The American Heart Association.
