Nécrologie de Eloise Herring Branham
Eloise Herring Branham passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the age of 88. She was born on December 31, 1933 to Joseph and Eleanor Herring. In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie; her sister, Mildred Wood; her brother-in-law, Danny Wood; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Branham. A woman of strong faith, Eloise attended Nortonsville Church of God for the last 53 years, where she served as Sunday School secretary for many years. She retired from State Farm after 43 years. Mom’s love for the Lord was evident in the way she cared for others and through her giving nature and always putting others before herself. Children held a special place in her heart and brought her much joy. Prior to her health decline, she loved helping at various church events with apple butter making being one of her favorites. She also loved working in her garden and sharing the fruits of her labor. Bluegrass music and flea markets were a favorite past-time. In her later years, visits from family and friends was a highlight of her day. If you brought a milkshake with you, you were guaranteed a spot in her “book”. She also enjoyed working word puzzles and reading her bible. Eloise is survived by her daughter, Dana; her son, Kevin and his wife Kim; grandchildren, Ashley and T.J.; and her brother-in-law, Ronald Branham. Eloise is also survived by a large extended family and many dear friends that will miss her greatly. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Nortonsville Church of God, 1505 Simmons Gap Rd, Dyke, VA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 9 at the church. Burial to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. Pastor Greg Payne and Pastor David Allison will officiate. Many thanks to the friends and family members who called and visited Mom. Those visits made her day. We would also like to thank the staff at Rosewood Village at Hollymead for their care this past year. Memorial contributions may be made to Nortonsville Church of God or Hospice of the Piedmont.
