

Son of the late Emanuel Sr. and Augustine Woodfolk, Emanuel Jr. entered his eternal resting place on August 31, 2020 at Hospice of the Piedmont. He was born March 8, 1941 in Green County, VA and made his home in Keswick, VA for the last fifty plus years.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl W. Alexander and two brothers, William and Charlie. Snookie, as he was known by many, was a 1961 graduate of the former J.P. Burley High School and held several positions on the Burley football team. Go "Burley Bears". He had held several positions at UVA including attendant oxygen therapy technician, and cardiac catheter lab technician. Upon leaving UVA he took a position at the former VEPCO as a line man for 22 1/2 years but was forced to retire due to his health.
An avid sportsman, Snookie followed UVA basketball and football; and could be found on any given Sunday watching his favorite NFL team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Snookie leaves behind the love of his life for 55 years, his devoted wife and nurse, Marilyn J "Turtle" Woodfolk, a son Dwayne Woodfolk, his wife Inger and their sons Darius and Ian, all of Richmond, VA, his sister Augustine Ragland and sister-in-law, Mildred Woodfolk, and brother in-law, Paul Lewis Sr. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Two devoted nieces, Teresa Jordan (Paul) and Rita Taylor (James).
He is also survived by many friends and special neighbors. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 5, 2020 at Teague Funeral Service at 11am with family and friends meeting at 10am with a graveside service immediately following at Monticello Memory Gardens. Due to Covid-19 everyone must wear a mask and practice proper distancing. Also there will be no repass.
Snookie's family would like to thank everyone, the medical staff at Sentara Martha Jefferson, UVA, and Hospice of the Piedmont for the care and support given to him and his wife during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the American Heart Association, Diabetic Association, or one of your choice in honor of Emanuel Woodfolk Jr.
