Ember was born September 23, 2012 in Alexandria, VA, to Bill and Amy White.
Ember is survived by her parents Bill and Amy, her sister Sarah White, her grandparents Patricia and David Ducharme (Grandma and Grandpa) and Peter Jones and Louise Wilson (Nonna and Da), as well as by her aunt Jenn Ducharme.
Friends were very important to Ember and she loved spending time with them. She also loved cooking and helping her Grandmother make bread. She always said “Grandma bread” was the best bread in the world.
She had a kind and caring heart and would always want to help if she saw someone was upset. She often told her mom, “I feel bad . . .” before telling her how someone was having trouble and how she wanted to help.
Ember was deeply deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Ember’s mother Amy asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support the HART (Human Services Alternative Response Team), who were called by first responders to be at her side and help her navigate the most difficult day of her life. They were a compassionate human presence offering supportive words, making phone calls to work and family, and arranging follow up counseling and support. They brought lunch and stayed by her side, reassuring her they would be there as long as she needed them and not leaving until she was safely on her way to be with family.
