Emmett Fulton Carver, Jr. went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, May 12, 2019, just shy of his 89th birthday. He was born to the late Emmett and Nellie Carver of Covesville, Virginia. He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Angie and Dennis Sheffer and Vicky and Barry Thompson. Two grandchildren, Matthew Sheffer, Casey Owen and great-grandson Elijah Fulton Owen. Emmett always took pride in his manicured yard and spotless vehicles. He was a member of the American Legion Post #74 in Keswick. Emmett was an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he and Sandy made weekly visits to shut-ins and nursing home residents, many of whom they did not know. Kind and devoted, who gave of himself in times of need especially providing 9 years of caregiving to his wife Florence during her battle with Alzheimer's.
