Mrs. Hazel Christine Wells Branch

Hazel C. Branch, 73, of Charlottesville passed away on June 17, 2014. She was born on September 13, 1941 in St. John Newfoundland, Canada and was the daughter of the late George and Mary Ivy Wells. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Wells, George Wells, Cyril Wells of St John’s Newfoundland, Canada, a daughter Linda Stacy of Charlottesville and grandson Robert Stacy, Jr. Hazel is survived by her husband Norman Wayne Branch, Sr. of Charlottesville, a sister Jean Tomlin of St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada, brothers Fred Wells and his wife Gloria, Larry Wells and his wife Ruby, and Leonard Wells of St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada; 5 children Lisa Estes and her husband Elzie Estes., Jr of Buckingham, Chris Stacy and her husband Mike McMullenof Greene County, Toni Stacy and her fiancé Audrey of Scottsville, Robert Stacy Sr. and his wife Rhonda of Charlottesville, Scott Stacy and his wife Jennifer of Warrenton; three step children Cynthia Branch of Charlottesville, Norman Branch, Jr and his wife Marie of Richmond, James Branch and his wife Kim of Crozet; 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, very special friends Polly Wine and Linda Snead, and many nieces and nephews. Hazel worked at the University Of Virginia Hospital until she retired. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother, homemaker and friend. She will be greatly missed. The family wishes to extend appreciation and thanks to the staff on 4-Central at UVA Hospital, Sue, Holly, Tammy, Robin. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday June 20, 2014 in the Teague Chapel with Pastor Jamie Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday June 19, 2014 at the funeral home.
