Herbert Hoover McDaniel

Herbert “Boots” McDaniel, 86 of Earlysville passed away Monday, September 12, 2016. Born on April 10, 1930 he was one of ten children to the late Wilmer and Gerty Shifflett McDaniel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Ann Thomas; brothers, Bill, Otis, Jack, and Thomas; sister, Mable; and the mother of his children, Irene Frazier. Boots is survived by his sons Cliff and Bobby McDaniel; daughters, Beverly Jean Robertson and Peggy Sue Taliaferro; sisters, Christine, Thelma, and Emma Jean; brother, Raymond McDaniel; and, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will sorely miss him. The majority of Boots’ life was spent working on the farm in Earlysville. When he wasn’t tending to his cattle, harvesting his corn, or bundling his hay he could be found hunting and fishing. Boots was a hard worker, like all farmers are, and was a man of his own taking care of what needed to be done. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Teague Funeral Home by Mr. Lindsay Ellis.
