Irene Collier

Irene “Rennie” (Shifflett) Collier, 68, of Free Union passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Ellis Daniel and Anne Shifflett. Mrs. Collier retired from Dominion Virginia Power after 35 years of service. She enjoyed traveling many places with her sister and daughters and spending time with her grandchildren. Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Lannie “Jr.” Collier; a special friend, Robert Hostetter; and brothers, Norman, James, Edward, and Mervin. Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca Frazier (Bryan), and Lorrie Maupin (Danny); grandchildren, Danny Maupin, Jr. (Beth), Jacque Maupin, Kirstyn Marshall (Bryce), Kaitlyn Frazier, Bryan Frazier, Jr., J.P. Maupin, Nicolas Maupin; great-grandchildren, Jack Marshall; and brothers and sisters, Stella Creel, Mary Chestnut, Roy Shifflett, Mavis Blankenship, and Joyce Shifflett; and a special sister-in-law, Ann Morris. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at Free Union Church of the Brethren, 4152 Free Union Road, Free Union, VA 22940, where she was a member.
