Nécrologie de Isis Eva Ringrose
Isis Eva Ringrose, 78, of Schuyler, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on July 29, 2021. Isis was born on March 9, 1943, to Chaim and Bella Wasserman, in Ordzenikitzeabat, a village in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains, in what is now Russia, located at the edge of Tibet, where Tibet meets China and present-day Russia. Her journey from the foothills of the Himalyas to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia is a stunning one. Her formative years were in Tel Aviv, Israel. After completing 2 years of service in the Israeli army, at the age of 20 Isis moved to New York City, where she met her husband, Tom Ringrose. Together they formed The Gathering, a spiritual community. The Gathering moved to Nelson County, Virginia in the late 70’s. They bought a 30-room house that was originally built as a hospital in 1921 for the Schuyler community. All of the architectural plans for the major renovations on the home were designed by Isis. Isis touched the lives of countless people, among whom was writer Earl Hamner, creator of ‘The Waltons’, late 70’s TV series. Mr. Hamner devoted a chapter of his book, ‘Generous Women’, to Isis. Isis was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Ringrose, parents Chaim and Bella Wasserman, and her sister, Halina Tracy, and her brother-in-law, Simon Tracy. Isis is survived by her nephews, Joshua Tracy and Dylan Tracy, and her nieces Alicia Tracy, Susan Tracy, June Tracy, and Stella Tracy. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you perform a challenging act of kindness. Donations can be made to the Nelson County Food Pantry.
