James Kenneth Morris, 68, of Charlottesville, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at a local hospital. Born April 8, 1946 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late George Mitchell and Lessie Shifflett Morris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Morris, and two brothers, Joseph Sherman Morris and Owen David Morris. He is survived by his wife, Joyce M. Morris; two daughters, Sherry Morris and Gloria Birckhead and her husband Jerry; one son, Chris Morris; three sisters, Catherine Satira and her husband Joseph, Georgia Deane and Shirley Morris; a very special granddaughter, Amber Jenkins; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Leah. He was a very happy man. He loved watching nascar and football, and loved sitting on the porch with his dog. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Teague Funeral Home.
