Joyce Jean Shifflett of Crozet, Virginia age passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the age of 79 Born on May 14, 1947, in Albemarle County, Virginia, Joyce was the daughter of the late Ellis and Annie Shifflett. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Edward, Mervin, Norman, and Roy Shifflett; and her sisters, Stella Creel, Mary Chestnut, Mavis Blankenship and Irene Collier.
For over 50 years, Joyce lived with and was lovingly cared for by her sister Mavis and her family in Crozet. Joyce enjoyed Sunday car rides, eating out, and in her younger years was active in local church groups and activities. She brought warmth and familiarity to those around her and was dearly loved by her family.
Joyce is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom affectionately referred to her as “Joyce Jean.” She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. All arrangements will be privately held.
