It is with deep sadness yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Katherine Andrews Miller, who departed this world peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on March 22, 2026. Born on January 8, 1934, in Beckley, Raleigh, West Virginia, Katherine graced this world with 92 years of love, laughter, and an unyielding faith that inspired everyone she encountered.
Katherine was the beloved daughter of the late Renick and MaryKathryn Andrews. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, William D. "Bill" Miller, whom she married on December 30, 1959, in Crozet, Virginia. They shared a beautiful journey together until Bill's passing, and though they are now reunited, Katherine's legacy continues through the generations of their family. She was also predeceased by her cherished siblings, Renick Walter (RW). Andrews and Jenny Lee Lawson.
Raised in a home filled with warmth and devotion, Katherine graduated from high school in 1952 in Covington, Virginia, and embarked on a career that showcased her dedication and work ethic. She began as a telephone operator in Covington, Virginia, and later served as a data processing operator at the University of Virginia. Eventually, she found her calling as the secretary for the Louisa County School Board, where her kindness and efficiency touched many lives.
Katherine was an active member of Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she expressed it through her involvement in the church choir and as a dedicated counselor at the Methodist Youth Camp Hazel River. She was also a guiding light in the church's youth fellowship, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
A woman of varied interests, Katherine found joy in camping trips, days spent by the beach, and the cherished annual Andrews Family reunions in Gypsy Hill Park, Staunton, Virginia. Her love for cooking and crocheting was matched only by the joy she found in engaging in arts and crafts with her grandchildren. Katherine's contagious smile and love of shopping were well-known, but it was her unwavering faith and love for Jesus that truly defined her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her children: Kathryn Woodson (Barry), Sue Clemmer (Danny), Troy Miller (Johanna), and Carrie Lynn Miller. Her family expanded to include 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and nurtured with her boundless love and wisdom.
In celebration of Katherine's life, a service will be held on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Crozet Baptist Church, located at 5804 St George Ave, Crozet, Virginia. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to faith, love, and community.
Katherine's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, faith, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we remember her not with tears, but with smiles and gratitude for the love she shared and the lives she touched. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
