Kelly Lee Wingfield

Lee blessed this Earth on February 9, 1961 and left his temporary home on October 22, 2015. He was born to the late Ollie Elvera Poston and Howard Joseph Wingfield. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by brothers, Spencer Elijah Wingfield, Joseph Oscar Wingfield, Sr., and Jerry Michael Wingfield, Sr.; and father-in-law, Jerry Lee Shull, Sr. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Denise; son, Tommy Wingfield; daughter and special son-in-law, Jessica and Allen Lilly; grandchildren, Cory, McKenzie, and Brianna Wingfield; two special grandsons, Ryan and Blake Lilly; a special dad (step-father), Donald Watson; siblings, Wayne Wingfield, Louise Wingfield, Howard “Buster” Wingfield, Ruth Sullivan and her husband David, and Johnny Wingfield; mother-in-law, Janie Shull, three sisters-in-law, Wanda Wingfield, Angela Wingfield and her partner Tony Walton, and Sheila Shull and her partner Kenneth “Bo” Walton; brother-in-law, Jerry “J.J.” Shull and his partner Gayle Sprouse; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lee is also survived by seven very close friends: Bruce Powell, J.R. Napier, Robert Wood, Bo Garr, Jamie “Sleepy” Morris, Randy Snoddy, and David Shull. He also leaves behind his spoiled and loved Dobermans Remi and Dixie. Lee was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time with family and making others laugh. He enjoyed riding ATVs, cat fishing, and watching his 1967 Dodge Dart go down the track. He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. A special thanks from the family goes to the HOPE Cancer Center, Dr. Gorsch and Michelle Beard, Hospice of the Piedmont, and Amy Dudley. We know that Lee has reunited with many loved ones and friends that left before him. His dogs Jewel, Little Man, Sassy, and Turbo were at the heavenly gates waiting for him. A funeral service will be conducted 5:00 pm Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Teague Chapel. It is suggested that you come to celebrate Lee as he knew you: in blue jeans and t-shirts. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm prior to the service on Monday.
