Luther Daniel Bunch

Luther was born on June 7, 1923, in Charlottesville, to the late Horace Newton and Alma Nanette Norris Bunch. He was a World War II veteran. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing softball but the past few years, he took great delight in watching his son and grandson play softball. When he was at home, he always was trying to find an Orioles game on TV. Being an avid hunter all his life, he loved spending summers in Pennsylvania bird hunting with family. He loved to deer hunt with his son Johnnie, grandson Bryan and his friends, Emil and Jonathan up until a few weeks ago. He loved fishing and being out on the boat with Johnnie and spend many nights with him on the Rappahannock River fishing. He was always asking for someone to organize a poker night with all his buddies. He spent most of his days outside preparing items to be recycled. His greatest pleasure of all was when he was surrounded by family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Kirby Bunch; his significant other, Madie Taylor; four siblings, Jack, David, Ruby and Raymond; and his grandson, Bruce Bunch.

Luther is survived by his children: Michael Bunch and wife, Cindy; Mary Deborah Taylor, who took care of Luther until the day of his death; Gary Taylor and wife, Mary; and Johnnie Bunch and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Bryan Bunch and fiancée, Tasha Collier; Neil Taylor and wife, Caitlin; Chelsea Vaccari and husband, Alex; and great-grandchildren Devin, Alan, Austyn, Jenna, and Noah.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 11am, at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville. The family will host a celebration of life service following the graveside service at the American Legion Post 74, 3025 Louisa Rd, Keswick, VA 22947.
