M. Fern Ellinger

Fern Spigner Ellinger Fern Spigner Ellinger born November 7, 1917 in Barboursville VA passed away on Feburary 13, 2016. She was the daughter of John & Ruth Spigner. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Peyton Ellinger, her son Robert Peyton Ellinger, II and her brothers John and Delmar. Survivors are her daughter-in-law, Helen, granddaughters Robin and Traci, great grandchildren Blair, Adam, Peyton and Hunter, and great great granddaughters Isabella and Ava. Additionally, her sister-in-law Martha, niece Vicki, and nephew David, as well as, great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ellinger was a member of the First Baptist Church on Park Street and a member of the Elizabeth Nalley Sunday School class. "Ms. Ellinger" began her career at Miller & Rhoads and then moved on to The Colonnade Shop and Williams Colonnade as a wedding planner where she facilitated weddings for generations of brides. When she retired, she worked at Smiths of Bermuda, volunteered at Martha Jefferson hospital, attended UVA basketball games and was an avid gardener. In her last few years, Mrs. Ellinger was lovingly cared for by the staff at Fairmont Crossing. A private family graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
