

Mary Alice Moon, 77, of Charlottesville passed away at her home on November 15, 2015. She was born on April 25, 1938 in Charlottesville to the late Otha and Nannie Tyree Gardner. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy Lee McCauley and William Jonah Moon. In addition to her parents and husbands, she has been preceded in death by a son, Kenneth McCauley; one step-son, Robert McCauley; a step-daughter, Mary Jane Price; one brother, Willie Gardner; one sister, Nellie Hite; and three grandchildren: Jennie Scott, Emmanuel Morris, and William McDaniel. She is survived by her four daughters: Joyce Broderick, Rhonda Wilson, Carolyn Shifflett, and Janet Snow; two sons: Michael McCauley and Carl McCauley; three step-daughters: Shirley McCauley, Patricia Brown, and Brenda Moon; and a great many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by a very special friend and caregiver Tammy Robertson. Mary was a member of Full Gospel Assembly Church for over 30 years, and she cared very much for her church family. A funeral service will be conducted 11 AM Friday, November 20, 2015 at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville with a burial to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Reverend Ronnie Sipes will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Mary’s name to the Full Gospel Assembly Church on Proffit Rd. in Charlottesville. The family would like to give special thanks to the medical staff at 3 East Palliative Care.
