Maya Wood, 47, of Crozet, VA passed away on October 15, 2020. He was born on March 14, 1973. Maya was extremely intelligent and talented. He demonstrated these qualities on a daily basis through his work as a master builder and carpenter. To those closest to Maya, he was known for being caring, loyal and generous. He was most at home when he was camping, hiking, boating, or spending time on the beach with his family. There wasn’t much he enjoyed more than sitting around a fire with those he loved most and spending time together. If he wasn’t spending his time outdoors, he was often found on the soccer field with his children. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Wood; and daughter, Rowyn Wood.
Maya is survived by his wife, Stephanie Wood; daughter, Bailey Wood and boyfriend William; daughter, Megan Martinez and son-in-law Carlos Martinez, and their children Julianna and Sebastian Martinez; son, Tyler Rader and fiance’ Aunisha Catoe and their daughter, Rylee Rader; his mother, Leah Fechtmann; his brother Teswar Wood; brother Cria Wood and wife, Megan Wood and their children Erin, Connor, and Lauren; and brother Shane Wood and wife, Stephanie and their children Myles and Charlotte. Maya also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 5:30 – 8:30 at Keswick Vineyards 1575 Keswick Winery Dr Keswick, VA 22947. The family requests that if you have any photographs of Maya that you’d like to share, please email them at: [email protected]
