Michael Lloyd Wasson

Michael Lloyd Wasson, 47, died January 16, 2016 at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD following a year-long battle with heart disease. Born November 26, 1968 in Alexandria, VA, he grew up in Springfield, VA and Severna Park, MD. He was a 1987 graduate of Severna Park High School. Michael lived in Glen Burnie, MD for many years, but for the past eight months had been a resident of Genesis Health Care Facility in Brooklyn Park, MD. Michael is survived by his parents, Gary and Barbara Wasson of Naples, FL; his brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Suzanne Wasson and their children, Gabrielle and Hayden. He is also survived by two aunts, Shirley Haskins of Charlottesville, VA and Virginia Long of Tamaqua, PA and four first cousins: Gerald Haskins, Dwaine Haskins (Lindley Dupree), Dale Haskins and Karen Long. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Lloyd Garrison and Marion Garrison Watson and Fern and Carson Wasson. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville, VA, with burial to follow at the Free Union Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Free Union, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name to the American Heart Association.
