Noah Kelcie Blankenship

Noah “Bill” Blankenship, of Crozet VA passed away at his residence on Sunday Oct 4, 2015. He was born on November 10th 1947 and was the son of the late Stella Jones Blankenship and Noah Blankenship. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mavis Blankenship of Crozet; a daughter Michelle Morris and two grandchildren Hannah and Haley Morris of Stanardsville VA, a sister Birdie Smith of Gordonsville VA, a special niece and nephew Daisy Lester and Jim Lester both of Grundy VA, sister in laws Irene Collier of Free Union VA, Mary Chestnut and Joyce Shifflett of Crozet VA, Stella Creel of Culpepper VA , a brother in law Roy Shifflett of Charlottesville VA in addition to other numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly . Noah was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph Blankenship and a sister Pearl Lester Grundy VA. Noah was retired from Martin Roofing Co. where he was employed for 30 years. He enjoyed spending his days fishing or hunting after his retirement and sharing tall tales of such with his family of fishing buddies. Noah’s favorite past times were family gatherings, front porch sitting with neighbors and watching his granddaughters play various sports. He had a passion for his brown Ford truck that will be missed at the popular places of Crozet. In his younger days Noah enjoyed competing in horseshoe tournaments and being in Horseshoe Clubs around the area. Pallbearers will be Mike Thacker, Brad Morris, Bryan Frazier, Bryan Frazier Jr, Dakota Bryon , Michael Garrison, Trey Garrison, and Fred Walker. The Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday Night from 6-8 at Teague Funeral Home, 2260 Ivy Road Charlottesville Va 22903 A funeral service will be held on Saturday 11:00 am at the Teague Funeral Chapel , with the Rev Danny Maupin officiating Intermit will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens directly following the Funeral. The family extends a thank you for all members of the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad and Crozet Fire Department for their assistance with his passing.
