Runelda Dunn

Runelda (Nell) Adkins Dunn, age 91, of Richmond, joined her husband of almost 66 years, Vernon Dunn, Sr. in Heaven on March 26, 2018. She was preceded in death by her son, Vernon Dunn, Jr. Great Grandson, Isham Walton, her parents, Harvey and Pearl Adkins, 2 brothers, Sherron Adkins (Gaye), James Adkins, 3 sisters, Mildred Redfern, Inez Rayley (J.C.) and Elma Edwards. Nell is survived by her two daughters Connie Cohen (Allan) and Tammy Hux (William,Jr.), Nancy Tyler who was just like a daughter, brother Derwin Adkins (Joyce), Varnelle Marsh, sister-n-law Ruby Adkins and a very special niece, Rita Williams. She had 4 grandchildren, Richard Previs, William Hux, III (Karen), Timothy T. Dunn (Shera Madison) and Jennifer Dunn (Mack Jefferies). She had 4 great-grandchildren; Timothy, Austin, Carter and Kaycie. Nell’s hobbies were cooking for her family, harvesting her and Vernon’s huge garden they planted every year and tending to their beautiful yard full of many varieties of plants and flowers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the At Home Hospice Care Team (Liz, Jim, Mary and Lee Anna) for their going above and beyond to bring their special care and compassion to Nell and the family. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45am on Tuesday, April 3rd at Teague Funeral Service at 2260 Ivy Rd, Charlottesville, VA. Service will follow at 11am. Interment immediately following at Wesley Chapel in Free Union, VA.
