

Sarah Margaret “Sally” Carpenter, 55, passed away peacefully at Innisfree Village on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. She was born on March 8, 1961, the daughter of the late Jesse T. and Martha E. (Stahr) Carpenter. Sally was a 1981 graduate of Charlottesville High School. She was an avid participant in many community activities such as Area 3 Special Olympics, Girl Scouts, and many Charlottesville Therapeutic Recreation programs. Sally has been a member of the Innisfree community for more than 25 years, living there full time since 2006. She worked primarily in the woodshop. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville. Sally embraced life with a love for music, singing dancing, sports and a friendship with everyone she met. She is survived by a sister, Alice Carpenter Moat, wife of David Moat, of Orefield, Pa., and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 500 Park Street, Charlottesville.
