Mrs. Shirley Ann Brown

Shirley A. Brown, of Charlottesville, departed this life on Thursday, July 24, 2014 surrounded by her loving daugther. Born on June 10, 1944, the daughter of the late Caroline and Leroy Wilson, Sr. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her four brothers, George Wilson, Charles Wilson, Leroy J. Wilson, Jr., Theodore Wilson; one sister, Patricia Wilson. She is survived by her daughter, Shawn A. Brown of Richmond; one granddaughter, Ariyan A. Williams of Richmond ; two sisters, Ella Mae Crawford of Hopewell and Lucille Moore of Charlottesville; one brother, Sherman Wilson of Charlottesville; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Shirley worked for a number of years at the University of the Virginia Medical Center, Renal Services. She was a proud grandmother of her granddaughter, Ari “Toots” and was a devoted, caring person for all of her family members. The family would like to say thank you to the Cancer Center at the UVA, with a special thank you to Anita McCray and friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Teague Funeral Chapel with reception to follow at the funeral home.
