Stephen White Ryalls, 63, of Charlottesville, passed away on November 6, 2015 at the UVA hospital. He was born on September 16, 1952 to Cecil “Chief” Ryalls and the late Jo Ryalls. He was the beloved husband of Kristine Ryalls for 22 years.
If you knew Steve, you loved him. He was one of the most generous men you would ever meet, with a very kind soul. His passions were gardening, music – especially for his guitar, golf, the beach, coin collecting, Nebraska and Virginia football, and having a beer with friends. He loved all his furry critters – and there have been a number of them over the years. He would do anything for you. His love for family and friends, that were so dear to him, was never ending.
He played music with his brother Timi for 28 years as “The Deadly Acoustic Act” at Durty Nelly’s Pub, along with other venues. Towards the end of his music career, his brother Larry joined them. He also worked at the family electrical business for the majority of his years and then worked at the City of Charlottesville as an electrician.
In addition to his father and wife, Steve is survived by his brothers: Timi and Larry Ryalls. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at Teague Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, November 13, 2015. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 PM – 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Steve’s name may be donated to the local SPCA, Juvenile Diabetes, and the American Heart Association.
