
Zelda Irene Breeden, 91, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2018. Zelda was born on January 29, 1927 in Rockbridge Baths, Virginia. She is survived by her Sister and Brother-in-law Margaret and Elijah Collier of Crozet, Virginia and many nieces and nephews. Zelda was one of five daughters of Lewellyn and Juanita Breeden who grew up in along Swift Run in Lydia, Virginia. After graduation from the Eastern Mennonite School in Harrisonburg, Virginia, she worked for thirty years as a secretary and fiscal accountant for the federal government in the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare in Washington, D.C. She retired to Charlottesville to take care of her mother. She lived for many years in the Branchlands community, eventually moving to Our Lady of Peace. Zelda liked to shop and travel and always exhibited a sense of adventure.
A graveside service will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at Stanardsville Cemetery, 289 Celt Rd (Rt 622), Stanardsville, Virginia 22973 at 10:00 am to be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Peace, 751 Hillsdale Drive, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
