

He was born in Chicago on December 16, 1951, the son of Harry and Elaine (O’Conner) Holquist. Bob married Lisa Musick on August 20, 2002, in Ft. Myers, FL.
Bob graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School where he was a dedicated member of the swimming and diving team. His accomplishments were recognized with many awards and being able to swim at the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Bob attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he enjoyed being on the cheerleading team, tailgating, and football games. He continued on to earn his bachelor’s degree in industrial arts at Western Illinois University, Macomb, known as “Hoke” to many of his friends. He went on to work for Chatham schools as the Industrial Arts Shop teacher and was awarded “Teacher of the Year” before retiring in 2012. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed woodworking in his garage shop, boating and rehabbing homes with Lisa, training his dogs, and listening to old vinyl records. He was a diehard Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching a good game.
He was a friend of Bill W. and member of AA, courageously facing his disease, which got the best of him in the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ellen Mitchell and Teri O’Conner Pitts.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lisa; and a son; stepchildren, Chris Musick of Ocala, FL and Brittany (Brett) Dickson of Glenarm; grandchildren, Ellie, Kaylie, and Matthew Dickson; one sister in CA, beloved dogs, Jimmy and Cricket; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home- Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham.
