

Donald was born on April 9, 1931, in Vandalia, MO, the son of Roy C. and Mary Catherine (Hamlett) Moore. Donald married Mary Darlene Johnson on June 15, 1952, and celebrated 72 years together.
Donald served in the Naval Reserve for 8 years. He was a member of the Chatham American Legion Post 759, served on the Board of Trustee in Chatham, and was the former Mayor of Chatham. Donald was President of Family Motor Coach Association, member of Masonic Lodge #523 AF & AM. He worked for Panhandle Pipeline for 38 years in Mexico, MO, Tuscola, Glenarm, and Waverly. Donald then started his own business of D & D Testing.
Donald and Darlene loved traveling the U.S. in their motorhome and spending the winters together in Florida. When at home, Donald could always be found at the local Hardee’s having a cup of coffee.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Darlene; sons, Tony (Theresa) Moore and Gary (Kelly) Moore; grandkids, Matthew (Amy) Moore, Amy (Jake) Featherston, Randy (Ashley) Moore, Andrea Moore, Brandi (Bryce) Buchele and Clayton Moore; great-grandkids, Tyler, Kiersten, Alyssa, Tiffany Moore, Destiny Moore, Kayleigh (Steven) Albers, Collin Featherston, Cloie Logerquist, Zander, Abbott and Mallory Moore, and Paislee Moore; and great-great-grandkids, Blakely Albers and Elsie Kapraun.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bradford Clark Moore; and brothers, Bill R. Moore and Richard E. “Red” Moore.
Memorial Gathering for Donald will be on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:15 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service to celebrate Donald’s life at 11:30 a.m. at Butler Funeral Home- Chatham, 8855 State Route 4 in Chatham, IL.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital or Parkinson’s Foundation.
Inurnment will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
