Noel Randolph "Randy" Miller

He was born in Tallula on June 29, 1939, the son of Milton Miller and Jessie (McEvoy) Wake. Randy married Nellie Adkins in Tallula on January 1, 1956. She preceded him in death in 2012.

Randy proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. Randy and Nellie owned and operated The Alamo II in Springfield for 25 years. He graduated from Sangamon State and earned his associate’s degree in business management. Randy went on to work in data entry for the State of Illinois until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing card games, and spending time outside fishing.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Betty Miller; brothers, Van Miller, Jim Wake, and Walter Wake; and sister, Peggy Frye.

Randy is survived by his son, Tony Miller of Springfield, IL; daughter, Pam Newbanks of Atlanta, IL; grandchildren, Addam Miller, Stephanie (Michael) Hudson, and Casey (Justin) Urban (employed); and siblings, Donald (Diane), John (Debbie), Ray (Sharon), and Jesse (Michelle) Wake, all of Springfield, Patricia (Doyle) Thrasher of KY, and Tom (Kathy) Wake of TX; and friend, Gloria Fisher.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home- Chatham, 8855 State Rt. 4, Chatham, until the time of the Ceremony at 11:00 a.m., with Celebrant Judy Woerner.

Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
