David M. Maloney

He was born November 18, 1924, in Chicopee, Mass. to David and Margaret Maloney. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World II. After the war he was a U. S. Customs Inspector, retiring as the Port Director for Springfield, Mass.

Dave will be missed by his family and friends and be remembered for his wit, kindness, support and love for his family, especially his wife Claire, and loyalty to his friends. He was a communicant of the Holy Redeemer Parish in Chatham.

Dave is survived by his wife of 64 years, Claire; his children David Maloney of Stratham, NH; Mary Heyer and her husband Chuck of South Hadley, MA; Patricia Waterman and her husband Thomas of Stratham, NH; grandson Christopher Heyer and his wife Layne of Santa Ana, CA and granddaughter, Erika Heyer of Middletown, CT.

SERVICES: A wake will be held today, December 23 at 8:30 at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd., Chatham, follow by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at the Holy Redeemer Church in Chatham. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Chatham Council on Aging 193 Stony Hill Rd., Chatham, MA 02633.
