

Chatham Fisherman, Cape Codder
Ralph V. Nickerson 73, of Chatham died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at home, after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Carolyn “Cally” (Cahoon) Nickerson for 49 years.
Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Roger and Gladys (Johnson) Nickerson. He was a lifelong Cape Codder. Ralph was a fisherman for many years. He was the former owner and operator of Ralph’s Trucking in Chatham, for many years. He loved the ocean, fishing, spending time on the water, and spending time with his family and friends. Most people know him for his morning drive around the “Loop” with his dog. He was always there to give a helping hand.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son Kenneth B. Nickerson of Chatham, daughter-in-law, Maryann Nickerson of Harwich, his two brothers, David R. Nickerson of Locke, NY, Steve A. Nickerson of Dennis Port, two sisters, Ethel Jean Small of Harwich Port, Judy MacLeod Morgan of Dillwyn, VA, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Roger M. Nickerson and brother of the late Robert M. Nickerson and Gary R. Nickerson.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Chatham, 16 Cross Street, Chatham, MA, followed by his burial in Seaside Cemetery, Chatham, MA.
