Virginia Harris

Virginia L. Harris, 85, of Wilmer, passed away November 18, 2016 at Providence Hospital. She was born February 16, 1931 to Lee and Lettie Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Samuel W. Heathcock, Sr., Charles Marshall Harris, Sr.; sons, Gary Heathcock, Gilbert Heathcock, Charles Marshall Harris, Jr., Charles Marshall Harris III; two brothers and seven sisters. She is survived by children, Samuel Webster (Erlinda) Heathcock, Jr., Mitchell (Debbie) Heathcock, Fredrick A. Harris, Terry Harris, Stewart (Lesleigh) Harris, Patsy (Larry) Smith, Lolita (Gayle) Young, Donna (John) Caraballo; sisters, Myrle (Howard) Moss, Daisy Caten; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Springbank Baptist Church in Chatom. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
