Belinda graduated from Riverside High School, class of 1970. She spent over 40 years in Dry Cleaning Service. She was a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, with Elder Anthony Williams, Pastor.
Belinda was a vibrant woman who, at the tender age of 18 was thrust into adulthood after the passing of her mother. Already a young mother herself, Belinda took on the responsibility of helping to raise her three younger sisters. As the first daughter and the first grandchild, she had already been shaped by the strong values and guidance of her upbringing, which prepared her for the role she so gracefully embraced.
She never missed a step when it came to raising her six children. Her dedication, strength and attention to detail carried over into her professional life as well, where she worked as a lead presser at several dry cleaners. Belinda took pride in her work and was known for her diligence and reliability.
Linda had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up any room. She loved cooking, listening to music, dancing and spending time coloring in her coloring books. Linda never met a stranger and would truly give the shirt off her back to help someone in need.
If you had the pleasure of knowing her, she left a lasting impression on your life. Whether it was through her warm smile, words of encouragement, or even a bit of loving correction, Linda had a way of touching the hearts of everyone she encountered. And when she loved, she loved deeply - you always knew it.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Magnesia Armour; father, James Cook, Jr.; grandparents, Willie Sylvester and Florence Hicks; aunts, Diane Hicks, Lorene Dozier, Sandra Hicks and Gloria Dupree; uncle, John Hicks; and brothers, Austin Lebron Armour and Darryl Mason Armour.
