Charles Albert Long

He was a United States Army Veteran and was retired from Combustion Engineering after more than forty years of service. Mr. Long was a member of the Battlefield Golf Club and attended Christ United Methodist Church.

His brothers, Ted Long and Edgar Long, and sister, Leona Long preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Jean Blevins Long; two daughters, Patricia Ann Long Adams and Pamela Jean Long both of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one son, James Charles “Jimmy” (Andrea) Long of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Mildred Key of Calhoun, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Robertson of Jackson, Tennessee, Bryan Charles “Chaz” Long of Chicago, Illinois, Shelby Irene Long of Osnabruck, Germany, Caroline Adams (Jeremiah) Barnes of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and Sarah Ruth Adams of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and three great-grandsons, Garrett, Brady, and Reese Robertson of Jackson, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Rev. David Hall officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the American Heart Association at www.donatenow.heart.org.
