Connie Joan Rutherford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie Joan Rutherford, a beloved mother, grandmother(Gigi), great-grandmother, and cherished friend. Connie departed this world peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the age of 69.

Born on November 3, 1956, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Connie was the daughter of Alpha and Lee Whitmire. Her life was one of vibrant dedication and passionate pursuits, defined by a spirit that embraced the unconventional and the extraordinary.

Connie was a woman of diverse interests and deep convictions. As a devout LaVeyan High Priestess of the Satanic Church, she found profound meaning in her spiritual journey, which guided her through life's many challenges and triumphs. Her beliefs were a testament to her courage and her unwavering commitment to living authentically and fearlessly.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Alpha and Lee, and her precious granddaughter, Shyanne. She is survived by her children, William B. Hawn IV (Theresa); James Skiles; Carrie Pendergrass; Richard Long; Elizabeth McCrary-Anthony; and Robert McCrary (Emily). Her legacy also lives on in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored very much.

A service to celebrate Connie's life was held at the McCrary home where her spirit was honored in a setting that embodies the love and comfort she gave so freely to others. Family, friends, and all who knew her were invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for the unique and unforgettable woman she was.
