Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and a special thanks to our oldest niece Tracy Brown who stepped up in our time of need to help our family during this hard transition.
Darryl was affectionately called “Nee-Nee” by those who knew and loved him best. He loved to dance and was always a sharp dresser, taking pride in his appearance and carrying himself with confidence and style.
His infectious smile could light up any room, and he was known for always having something kind, encouraging and positive to say. Darryl had a way of making people feel seen and appreciated, whether you had known him for years or had just met him.
As a child, Darryl was full of adventure and energy. He loved riding bicycles and believed he was the next Evil Knievel, fearlessly jumping off rooftops and popping wheelies, living life with excitement and imagination.
That love for bicycles stayed with him into adulthood, becoming more than just a hobby—it was a source of joy, freedom and reflection for him.
Above all, Darryl loved his son, Marcus dearly. Marcus was his pride and joy and was always part of any conversation. Darryl spoke of him often, with love shining through every word. He took his role as a father seriously and cherished every moment, always striving to lead by example.
Family meant everything to Darryl. He held his loved ones in the highest regard and showed his love not just through words, but through his actions each day. He was loyal, dependable and deeply devoted, always willing to lend a hand or offer support.
Darryl was also a firm believer in God and lived his life grounded in faith. He trusted God wholeheartedly and found peace in knowing that with God would be his final resting place. His faith guided the way he loved others and gave him comfort, strength and assurance throughout his life.
Darryl’s warmth, humor, faith and genuine love for others will be remembered forever. His legacy lives on through the memories he created, the lives he touched and the love he shared so freely.
