

He was retired from the Department of Transportation (DOT), where he was a dedicated and valuable employee for over 35 years. He was a faithful member of the New Piney Wood Baptist Church.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Herschell and Lacey Owens Lindsey, Sr.; brothers, Herschell, Jr. and Johnnie Lindsey; sisters, Annie Lee Blackstone, Mattie Mae Reed, Venner Lou Allen, Callie Mae Sampson and Willie Bea Lindsey; grandsons, Kashunn Cantrelle Robinson and Detrall Lebron Green.
Those George leaves behind to cherish his memories are his daughters, Sharon Lindsey, Rhonda (James) Smith, Lisa Martin and Penny Collier; sons, Edward Lindsey and Terrence (Josey) Rhodes; granddaughters, Shantel and Shameka Wiley, Kashunndra and Kimberly Robinson, Tracey Pickett, Nicole Brown, Deandrea Green, April Pillows, Laticia (Bryant) Stanfield and Kyria Jones; grandsons, Tony Pickett, Quinn Walker and Dieshunn Taylor; 20 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; special son, Bernard Collier; and a host of family, relatives and friends.
A Visitation for George will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Franklin Strickland Chapel, 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
Funeral Services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm.
The Committal Service will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2116 Shepherd Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
