James was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Dora Hancock; sisters, Emma Amato, Margaret Guedon, Oneda Nichols and Vera Snyder.
James is survived by his brother Reverend Arnold (Edna) Hancock; children Melinda ( Ed) Killian, Jim ( Darlene) Hancock, Stephanie Roddy and Jennifer Sawyer; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 4- 8 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services and on Friday from 10 am until time of service.
Funeral services for James will be conducted at 11:30 am on Friday in the funeral home chapel
Interment to follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery
