Jerry Allon Gilstrap

Jerry Allon Gilstrap, aged 77, of East Ridge, Tennessee passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born on July 18, 1947 in Fort Bragg, NC, and was a life long resident of East Ridge and North Georgia.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam.

Jerry was a former Police Officer, a Foreman building houses and was also a Business Owner since 1999.

Jerry was a loyal husband to his wife, Sunny. Known as “A friend to everyone around”, Jerry was very loyal to his friends and customers. He spent over 25 years working daily as a small business owner in East Ridge. Jerry loved cats, gardening, anything about guns and loved to eat anything containing peanut butter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gilstrap and Vivian Cantrell; infant child, Charlie Gilstrap; and three brothers, Randal Gilstrap, Scott Gilstrap and George Yother.

Those Jerry leaves behind to cherish his precious memories include his loving and devoted wife, SunHye Ebel Gilstrap; stepdaughters, Maria and Melodee Ebel; stepson-in-law, Mark; step-grandkids, Auston, Andrew, Amiyah (husband, Alex Oliver), Zora and Miguel; step-great-grandkids, Reid, Braxton, Alex and Alijah; 2 aunts; 4 nephews; numerous cousins; other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404, with Pastor Euigyeom Kim officiating with translator, Pastor David Bennett, along with Joan Bohannon presenting the Eulogy.

The family requests that any floral arrangements be potted plants and are to be sent directly to the funeral home.
