Jimmie Waters

Jimmie Waters, 73, of Birchwood went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 02, 2014. He was born February 22, 1941 to the late Fred and Maggie Waters. He was preceded in death by sister, Diane Gates and brother, Marvin Waters.

He attended Philadelphia Baptist Church, where he was very active. He especially loved working in the kitchen during the Friday Night Gospel Singings. Mr. Waters was an avid sports fan, he especially loved college football. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed rabbit hunting, reading westerns, and working the puzzles in the newspaper.

Survivors include his son Jim Dewayne (Chris) Waters; daughter Kathy (Tony) Honeycutt; grandsons, Matthew (Allison) Honeycutt, Christopher Waters, Joseph Waters, Bryce Honeycutt, and Cameron Honeycutt; great grandson Wyatt Honeycutt; brother, Freddie (Linda) Waters; sisters Ruby Waters and Gladys Waters; special friend Caroline Cooper; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 Wednesday, June 4 in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Borders officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-8 Tuesday and from 11-1 Wednesday.Arrangements under the direction of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist-East Brainerd Chapel, Chattanooga, TN.
