Manuela Tuteanu Bresee

Ella as she was affectionately known, was a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee for the past 14+ years.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse for Erlanger Hospital and CHI Memorial Memorial Hospital.

Ella was very active in the medical field, and was currently enrolled in CRNA School at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to become a Nurse Anesthetist.

Along the way, she lended her expertise and was a member of many medical and professional organizations including The Nurse Professional Recognition and Retention Council for multiple years, helping with Nurses Week planning and implementation and the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at CHI Memorial Hospital. She was a Nurse Professional Practice Council lead for many years at CHI Memorial Hospital.

Ella was a compassionate, selfless and a brilliant celebrated Nurse which showed in the awards she received. She was awarded the CHI Memorial System Nurse of Excellence for 2019, the Catherine Spalding Award 2020 at CHI Memorial Hospital and the Daisy Champion Award 2023, also at Memorial CHI Hospital.

She was also Med-Surg board certified earning her CMSRN being recognized as a nurse expert in Med-Surg Nursing, along with being a CVRN-BC Cardiac Vascular board certified nurse, for excelling as a Nurse expert in Cardiac Vascular Nursing.

Ella was a very active member with the Chattahooligans and Chattanooga FC. She graciously volunteered her time with CISV Chattanooga which like Ella, strives to make the world better through global friendship.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Andrew Bresee of Chattanooga, TN; her father, Nicusor Tuteanu; mother, Daniela Tuteanu both of Florence, Italy; and her cherished fur babies, Mix and Toby; other relatives and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Legacy Funeral Home, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379.
