She was the daughter of the late James Eli Wilson and Ethel Grace Lewis Wilson. Marguerite attended Business College and worked for Erlanger Medical Center as an Executive Secretary, retiring after 39 years of service. She was a longtime member and oldest female at Bayside Baptist Church, where she received the awards of being the oldest Mother and Grandmother.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, James Fisher Searcy (1996) as well as all of her siblings.
Survivors include her son, James M. (Dora Y.) Smedley; grandchildren, J. Brandon (Marie) Smedley and Stacey Roberts; great-grandchildren, Jean Smedley, S. Ely Roberts and Norah Smedley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 19, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Walter Hare officiating. Marguerite will be laid to rest, following the services, at 12:30 PM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with her husband, James Fisher Searcy.
