

Pat Stroud of Chattanooga, TN was fortunate enough to live on this beautiful God’s creation that we call earth for 86 years. On May 16, 2026, she received her invitation to join Jesus in His magnificent paradise.
Born on June 8th, 1939, she lived her early years at Oak Ridge, TN with her father, C. Fred Kellis, mother, Duffy Kellis and sisters, Diane and Freddie. Her father was an integral part in the United States development of the Manhattan Project.
Pat married Dan Stroud on September 6th, 1957, at First Lutheran Church, Chattanooga TN. She had two sons, Tim and Scott.
Pat was the Cafeteria Manager at the Lutheran School (Belvoir Christian Academy) in East Ridge, TN. and the Home Economics Instructor. She also worked as a Secretary at Turner Funeral Home in Chattanooga, TN. Later, she was a secretary for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Erlanger Hospital.
Always active in life she enjoyed things like hunting Indian artifacts, cooking and canning, sewing and knitting, fishing, working on the family farm where she became the world’s fastest woman while being chased by a black racer. She was always active in church; singing in the choir, doing church activities and quilting.
Bravery in life while fighting renal failure and congestive heart failure. Bravery in death by living longer than anyone expected after stopping dialysis.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, C. Fred and Duffy Kellis, husband Dan, sisters Diane Wilkie, Freddie Dunn and her Grandson Brent Stroud.
She is survived by her sons, Tim (Missy) and Scott (Sarah) Stroud. Grandchildren, Amanda Weathers (Kevin), Drue Stroud, Eradesa Stroud, and Great grandchildren, Karter Weathers and Brentley Efird. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom will surely be missed in the hearts of her family, and she would ask that we stay strong and united in our Christian faith, love each other, support each other and know that she and her memories will always live in our hearts.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm on Monday, May 18, 2026, in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, 2800 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404 with Rev. Donald Welmer and Rev. Gilbert Pingel officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
