

Patricia L. Parkinson Carter passed away on July 8, 2017. She fought a hard battle for seven years with multiple myeloma, but is now at home with her Savior. Patricia was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1948, and was a graduate of Hixson High School. She dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was an active member of the Harrison Ruritan Club, Harrison Woman’s Club, and the Judge David Campbell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. For ten years she coached young girls with the Greater Brainerd Soccer Association, the Redout Soccer Association and East Ridge Soccer Association. For several years Patricia taught a Sunday School class at Ridgedale Baptist Church. At her death, she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father James M. Parkinson, her mother Beulah Turner Parkinson Hunerwadel, and step-father Robert A. Hunerwadel.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years Kenneth D. Carter, her son Christopher A. (Mignon) Carter, and granddaughter Keagan A. Carter, brother Mark Steven (Diana) Parkinson, step-brother Charles P. (Jerry) Hunerwadel, step-sister Linda Hunerwadel, many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Harrison Ruritan Club with Dr. William E. Owns officiating.
